Many of us are faced with the difficult decision of how best to provide for our health care. In this seminar you will learn how health insurance works, and what types of health plans qualify for Health Savings Accounts. Learn about the retirement benefits of these plans and how they qualify for long-term savings. Leave with info and worksheets to determine if these plans are right for you. Freeing The Back, Neck & Shoulders
taught by Joy de Maranville
Come and learn how to increase your flexibility, coordination and ease of movement. Joy will lead you through three gentle movement sequences designed to help you develop a greater awareness of moving more comfortably through daily life. Learn to move with minimum effort for maximum effect thereby decreasing pain, tension, stress and fatigue. Based on the "Feldenkrais Method" and "Awareness Through Movement," these lessons help you to improve posture and restore a more full range of motion throughout your back, neck and shoulders. $12 per person, $10 for co-op members & seniors.

Italian Cuisine With Chef Paige

No plane ticket required - to be transported to Italy with the delicious tastes of Paige's cooking. We'll start the evening with Bagna Cauda - a hot garlic and anchovy dip for steamed and/or raw vegetables, traditionally served as an antipasto at holiday and celebration feasts. We'll also enjoy Mushroom Risotto as well as Fresh Pasta with two different sauces - a classic Ragu Bolognese and a more contemporary Lemon, Pine Nut & Parsley Sauce. Anyone can be creative, and it's essential to a rich life to continually cultivate creativity. Besides, it keeps life interesting and playful! From studying creativity and creative people for the past fifteen years, Marybeth has come up with some surefire tools to help you understand, initiate, and stay with your creative process. It's not about being famous or making money, it's about expressing your unique, soulful self, in a way that only you can, for your own growth and happiness. Artists and non-artists alike will benefitfrom this class, with its discussion, written exercises and stimulating guided imagery. $12 per person, $10 for co-op members and seniors.

Eating Well on a Busy Day

You can eat well on a busy day - it just takes stocking your kitchen with some mix and match foods, a few new ideas and some planning. We'll prepare and sample a Breakfast Parfait, Lunchtime Vegetable Wrap and Simple Supper Quesadillas. Come hungry! $15 per person, $13 for co-op members and seniors.

What's Left To Eat If You Leave Out The Meat
taught by Nancy O'Connor, Merc Director of Nutrition Education
In this fun and informative class we'll discuss various non-meat protein sources and how they fit into a healthy, well balanced diet. We'll talk about how to build a delicious meal centered around healthy plant proteins. Best of all we'll demonstrate and sample a range of meatless options including Marinated Tofu and Basmati Rice Salad, Chop Suey with Seitan, Savory Butternut and Black Bean Burritos, and delicious Tempeh Reubens. $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.

Bengali Fall Festival

Let's celebrate the evening with an array of dishes typical to the Bengali Fall Festival - five days of enchanting joy and merriment. Come on, indulge, and savor: cholar-dal (exquisite split-lentil soup), kobiraji cutlet (dreamy chicken burger moistened with fragrant herbs and spices), chaanar (cottage cheese) fried rice, dimmer-dalna (a traditional egg preparation), and pati-shapta (luscious coconut crepe) as dessert. $15 per person, $13 for co-op members and seniors.

Spanish Tapas - Delicious Little Bites

We're headed off to Spain with Chef Paige to enjoy an evening of wonderful little dishes. When you put together a collection of these small appetizers you have a delicious meal, best shared with a group of friends and Spanish wine. Paige will prepare and you'll sample Garlicky Shrimp, Meatballs in Saffron Sauce, Tortilla Espanola (Potato Omelet), Romesco Sauce (Catalan Pepper Sauce) and Escalivada (Eggplant Salad with Onions and Peppers). We expect a crowd! $18 per person, $15 for co-op members & seniors.

Nutrition Basics
taught by Hilary Kass
Join Hilary Kass, nutrition educator, for an evening of practical nutrition education. We'll begin with a store tour, exploring healthy products and buying in the bulk department. You'll learn how to make good use of your food dollars by learning to shop for value. Each class participant gets to choose a food item that we will open and sample in class. We'll read food labels and learn the components of a healthy diet. You'll return home with several resources for good nutrition information including books and on-line interactive web sites. This is a good class for someone beginning their journey into healthy eating. A light snack will be served. $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.

Saturday, October 29, 2-4pm
Indian Flat Breads
taught by Ravi Phull
Join us for this hands-on class and learn to make delicious Indian flat breads. We'll make simple Naan, Stuffed Parathas (flat bread filled with vegetables), Rotlis (unleavened bread made with oil), Spinach Purees (fried puffy bread) and Onion Roti (flat bread with onion in the dough). $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.
