Holiday Breads - One Dough Makes Three Breads!
taught by Mari Ruck
Join Mari for another great baking class - always educational, always delicious! Mari will make one basic yeasted dough and transform it into three special holiday treats: Greek Christmas Bread, Panettone (Italian Fruitcake), and traditional Almond Coffee Cake. We'll put on the tea and coffee and you'll enjoy the treats. $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.

Dazzle Your Holiday Guests With Cheese
taught by Jenny Scales
Serving cheese is an art, but not one that's inaccessible. Come learn to speak the language of cheese as we taste the world's most delectable specimens. Demystify cheese and wine pairings and learn to effectively taste and describe cheese. We'll assemble a simple cheese plate certain to please even the pickiest guest. Everyone is a "fromager" at heart. Come hungry, leave happy. $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.

Yoga For The Holidays

Do we really leave enough time in the day for ourselves? Take some time out of your hectic schedule for a mini yoga vacation. De-stress the body by learning how to use the breath as a tool to quiet the mind while stretching and releasing tight muscles. Find out what postures will help you stay calm and centered during the holidays and into the New Year. $12 per person, $10 for co-op members & seniors.

Festive Party Hors D'oeuvres
taught by Debjani Bhaduri
Come sample some easy-to-make recipes that will spice up any hors d'oeuvres party - perfect for holiday entertainment. The evening starts with the indescribably delicious Bengali Phuchka, fried flour balls stuffed with a spicy mix and dipped in tamarind-water; Italian Pizette, topped with Bengali-style vegetables; Moorish Empanadillas, with chicken-potato stuffing; Bengali Paneer (cottage-cheese) Tikki; Tuscan Chocolate Pudding; and Bengali Semolina-Chestnut Halua. Attendees will receive a complementary gift. $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.

Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh - A Christmas Full
Of Eastern Promise

Follow the star and celebrate with a feast fit for royalty! We begin with gold - Khari, yogurt soup with dumplings, rich and heartwarming. Followed by Frankincense - marinated, roast chicken, full of eastern spice, served with precious emeralds - Brussels sprouts with mustard seed and cumin, and rubies - saffron roasted potatoes. Finally the arrival of Myrrh - sumptuous gulab jamans in a sweet, golden syrup. If time permits, we will also herald in mince pies and brandy butter. The red carpet awaits! $15 per person, $13 for co-op members & seniors.

Boning Up On Osteoporosis
taught by Karen Roberts
Join Karen Roberts, local board-certified Nurse Practitioner, for a round-table discussion of bone health. She'll review the basics of bone formation and maintenance, risk factors for osteoporosis, bone density testing, prevention and treatment. Learn how to protect yourself and your bones, now and for your lifetime. $12 per person, $10 for co-op members & seniors.

Thursday, December 15, 7-9pm
Holiday Sweets & Chocolate
taught by Ali Olewnik and Chef Sula Teller
Let's bake together! This will be a hands-on class. Ali will guide each participant from start to finish as they make and bake Five-Spice Biscotti, Italian Amaretti and Sweet Brioche. We will also temper chocolate and each participant will construct a simple piping cone from parchment and then practice piping elegant and simple chocolate designs. At the end, we'll sip Ali's famous eggnog and toast the beginning of a beautiful holiday season. All materials provided. Roll up your sleeves, we'll see you there! Enrollment limited to 15. $18 per person, $15 for co-op members & seniors.
